“A healthy intestine makes a healthy person.” The basis of a pleasant life begins with intestinal health.
Inulin is a type of water-soluble fiber found in vegetables such as onions, burdock root, and garlic.
Inulin is effective in promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria such as bifidobacteria, and helps to improve the intestinal environment.
It also helps to maintain good health by keeping the intestines clean.
Features of Fuji FF and Fuji FF HS
Fuji FF/Fuji FF HS is the world’s only extremely pure inulin made from sugar through the action of an inulin synthase—a microbial enzyme that converts sugar to inulin. In addition, at Fuji Nihon Seito, we use our proprietary technology to control the chain length (process patented in Japan and overseas), which allows us to provide a stable supply of high-quality inulin. We offer two types of inulin: the standard type Fuji FF and Fuji FF HS, which features a short chain length and superior solubility.
Fuji FF
Distribution of the chain length 3-30(Av.14-16)
* G: Glucose F: Fructose
Fuji FF HS
Distribution of the chain length 3-20(Av.8-10)
* G: Glucose F: Fructose
Fuji FF/Fuji FF HS Usage Examples
Fuji FF/Fuji FF HS can be used for a wide variety of applications in many different kinds of foods, including confectionery, dairy products, and prepared foods.
Dietary Fiber Enrichment
Fuji FF/Fuji FF HS has a high dietary fiber content of over 94.7%(Dry basis), making it suitable for dietary fiber enrichment.
Carbohydrate Substitution
Since Fuji FF/Fuji FF HS has a low carbohydrate content, it can be used in a wide range of carbohydrate-free products as it replaces carbohydrate substances in the body.
Improved Physical Properties and Texture
When added to food, Fuji FF/Fuji FF HS can improve the food’s physical properties and texture.

Functional Data
Intestinal Regulation
Inulin is not digested in the small intestine, and instead increases bifidobacteria and other beneficial bacteria in the large intestine. It is further reported that these beneficial bacteria produce short-chain fatty acids, which improves the intestinal environment by suppressing the growth of harmful bacteria, thereby promoting peristalsis in the intestines and regulating bowel movements.

Suppression of Postprandial Blood Glucose Elevation
Bifidobacteria that grow in the presence of inulin produce short-chain fatty acids. Short-chain fatty acids act on L cells in the intestinal tract to stimulate insulin secretion and also promote the uptake of increased postprandial blood glucose into the organs, thereby suppressing the increase in blood glucose levels that occurs after meals. In addition, inulin has also been reported to suppress glucose absorption in the small intestine.

Lowering of Blood Triglycerides
Bifidobacteria that grow in the presence of inulin produce short-chain fatty acids. It has been reported that these short-chain fatty acids act on various organs to increase lipid and energy consumption, suppress the synthesis of neutral fat, and suppress appetite, resulting in an improved lipid metabolism and lower blood triglyceride levels.

Skin Quality Improvement
The intestinal environment is known to be closely related to the condition of the skin. Inulin has been reported to improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture (barrier function) and maintain skin elasticity by improving the intestinal environment.
